Person of interest in BP gas station homicide in Dogtown escapes police custody

UPDATED INFORMATION: St. Louis Police just released information after 2:00 this (Tuesday) afternoon relative to the homicide.

St. Louis Police say 19-year old Jataveion Scott was in custody, but escaped, while handcuffed, and was last seen running through the Peabody Housing complex.


If you see Scott, call 911. This is a developing story and will be updated with additional information when necessary.

Scott was wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans with a tear in the right knee and no shoes.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - ST. Louis Police are not officially releasing the motive in an early Tuesday morning shooting death of a clerk at the BP station at Hampton and Berthold in Dogtown.

Police say that 22-year old Iyaz Ahmed was shot in the head around 3:30 Tuesday morning. Detectives say three suspects were involved, but a description was not available.
