ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Three people, two of them being juveniles were killed in a Friday morning crash on Interstate 270 in St. Louis County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Cpl. Dallas Thompson, a deadly crash occurred in the northbound lane of I-270, blocked all lanes near the ramps to Interstate 55.
Thompson says the crash took place when a flat-bed truck was trying to move to the shoulder of the interstate to fix a problem and then an SUV struck it after it stopped.
Two fatalities, a woman and a child were confirmed dead on the scene. A second child was transported to the hospital, but died from their injuries.
Thompson confirmed to KMOX that two of the fatalities were juveniles, but did not specify their ages.
The crash closed I-270 for a lot of Friday morning, causing major traffic delays in the area.
