Looking for something different to do this weekend? Explore St. Louis' Cat Neville returned to KMOX to talk about what's going on in the Lou.
Straight No Chaser at the Fox (12/8)
The a cappella group originating from Indiana University will be performing some Christmas tunes — plus some other songs, like Tennessee Whiskey.
"Just guys in suits, kind of singing. It's just very, very fun," Neville said.
Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Ghosts of Christmas Eve" (12/10)
"It's kind of like the 80s meets an electric orchestra," Neville told KMOX. "They have a laser show and lots of smoke onstage. And the music is very fun. And so they're doing some of their favorites." The event takes place at the Enterprise Center.
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra all-Mozart program (12/9-11)
"Every night this weekend, you're gonna be able to indulge in all Mozart, which, I'm a big fan. When I grew up my dad took me to the symphony all the time," Neville said. "So this one was really one I was really excited to mention because Mozart, if you're not that familiar with classical or Baroque music, Mozart is something that is kind of like an entryway — like a gateway composer."
The Little Dancer at COCA (12/8-11)
The classic holiday ballet is getting a bit of a twist put on it this year.
"This year, it's actually called the little dancer moments in time. And what they've done is they've pulled I think it's seven different dancers together … at different age ranges. And so they're interpreting different moments in time. So it's not it's not the classic presentation, it's kind of a little bit of a diversion."
Winter Jewels at the Butterfly House in Chesterfield (Through 12/31)
"They have turned the butterfly house into just this tropical conservatory filled with fairy gardens and it's home to the guardians of their jewel tone butterflies," Neville said. "But on the 10th is actually supper with Santa. So throughout the month you're going to be able to bring your kids, explore the conservatory, have dinner with Santa, and then afterwards you get to go to Mrs. Claus's kitchen for cookies and a little hangout."
Cat Neville stuck around with KMOX a little longer to talk about gift ideas, and more. Listen to her interview:
