The study from the Guttmacher Institute looked at abortion trends between 2017 and 2020.

During that time period, Illinois saw abortions go up 25-percent -- from 42 thousand in 2017 to 52 thousand three years later.

Some of the increases are attributed to women travelling from neighboring states which stricter abortion restrictions.

Missouri meanwhile saw a big drop -- down 96 percent -- from 47 hundred in 2017 to 170 in 2020.

Under Missouri’s trigger law passed in 2019, abortions are now only permitted in cases of a medical emergency. There are no exceptions for rape or incest under the law.
