ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX) - One man is dead and another person is seriously wounded in a double shooting in O'Fallon Park in north St. Louis Monday night. Police say they responded just before 8 PM and found a man not conscious or breathing. St. Louis EMS brought him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second victim showed up at the hospital with injuries including a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The park is on West Florissant, north of Adelaide. Police identified the location as near Athlone Avenue, which is near the lake side of O'Fallon Park. Shell casings were found in the area. No suspects have been identified, and police have not indicated details - such as age or gender - of the victim who survived. This is at least the 60th homicide in the City of St. Louis this year, and continues a deadly stretch with at least 3 murders over the weekend. It followed a deadly weekend before when 5 died. Many others were wounded this month.
