There are plans in place to tear down a South County Hotel.
The Aviator Hotel, at 55 and Lindbergh, will be demolished by its new owner according to St. Louis County Councilman Mike Archer. He tells KMOX the unnamed owner has been spending money to hire security to take the pressure off of local law enforcement.
Archer says the goal is to put something else there -- not another hotel.
"Looks like they're going to put in instead there a retail space and right now we really don't know what sort of retail but that is what they're contemplating."
He adds there isn't a timeline to tear the building down but expects it to move quickly.
