ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - About 400 students in St. Louis joined the "Movement Not Moment" march on Monday morning.

It started at Wohl Center at Martin Luther King Drive and Kingshighway Boulevard and ended up at Cardinal Ritter College Prep.

One of those students who used to speak out about against gun violence was Isis Mahr. Mahr was 19-year-olds when she was gunned down back in 2021.

Mahr's father, Atif, was at the march and says his daughter was someone who was 'about community, always about ending gun violence.'

Atif says his daughter was instrumental in getting a soccer program going at Cardinals Ritter.

"She rounded up girls and began a program at Cardinal Ritter," said Atif. "She was one of the initial young ladies to start the program. That was the type of young lady she was."

Atif says youth violence is 'an epidemic'.

Joining the march were students from CBC High School in memory of hockey player Colin Brown.

Last fall, the 16-year-old was shot and killed by a stray bullet while riding in an SUV with his dad.
