A St. Clair County, Illinois man faces three felony counts after allegedly assaulting his child and setting fire to the family home in Lenzburg.
The state fire marshal's office helped deputies gather enough evidence to charge 42-year-old Raymond Generous with aggravated arson, residential arson, and aggravated domestic battery.
Deputies say the victim came to the New Athens Police Department on Friday afternoon to report what happened.
Fire crews were able to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby homes.
