With the hottest days of summer hopefully behind us, Ameren Missouri said it got through the heat without any of the "brown outs" that some were predicting this summer for the Midwest power grid.
Ameren Missouri President Mark Birk told KMOX that there was never a problem generating enough electricity.
"We had long heat spells that we could have some challenges throughout the system," he said. "We did not have those, and as far as the summer, everything has operated well."
Birk said that even that string of at-or-near 100-degree days, Ameren Missouri consistently had at least a 15% cushion on its capacity to meet demand.
