Vice President of Electric Operations, George Justice tells KMOX, the utility designs its systems for days like what we will be experiencing. "Wire sizes, transformer sizes, all of the different things that we have to consider. We call these peak days and our system is ready to handle that."
Justice says every year they review their system to make sure it can withstand a multi-day heatwave. "The last few summers we've always had a few 100 degree days and we've weathered those pretty well and we expect the exact same thing to happen this year."
