Yesterday, the House January 6th Committee heard testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, who was an aide to former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Hutchinson said she learned of a physical altercation between Trump and the Secret Service right before the attack on the Capitol. However, the Washington Post reports that several agents who accompanied the President that day do not back Hutchinson’s version of the story.

CBS reporter Scott McFarlane joined Total Information AM to talk more about the testimony. He discussed the differences between Hutchinson’s testimony under oath versus the anonymous Secret Service member who came forward.
“There's really an asymmetrical battle going on here,” McFarlane said. “We really don't have apples versus apples here, we have apples versus oranges. And we expect over the next 12 to 24 hours some more clarity either from the committee or from the Secret Service itself.”
McFarlane said that while yesterday’s testimony in some ways painted a picture of an unhinged man in the Oval Office, the committee’s real intention is to ring the bell of the Justice Department.
“There may be an audience of one for these hearings — the United States Attorney General,” he said. “Because this committee is using the language strategically. They have accused Donald Trump of obstructing an official proceeding, which is kind of a weird phrase. But that's exactly the phrase the Justice Department uses in many of the criminal cases.”
