ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday they have arrested and charged a another suspect related to the killing and death of 16-year-old CBC student and hockey player Colin Brown.
Donovan Baucom, 28, was arrested by St. Louis police and charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon - shooting from a motor vehicle.
The second arrest comes less than a week after another suspect, Garrett Jordan, 26, was charged with first-degree murder, 2 counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and assault.
Brown was shot by a stray bullet and critically injured while riding in an SUV with his father at I-55 and Bates Avenue. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department say it happened around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Police say the father continued to drive and stopped at 4th and Walnut where police and EMS met him. Brown died four days later, according to St. Louis Metropolitan Police, with his organs donated to other patients.
According to a probable cause statement, an Audi was shooting at a separate vehicle entering I-55 from Minnesota Avenue when a stray bullet struck and killed Brown. Jordan, who was recently released from federal prison, was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Police interviewed a witness who told officers he noticed the Audi was often parked outside a home on Minnesota Avenue, which would later be determined where Jordan resided.
Jordan was been arrested by police on Thursday after police got a search warrant and traced his phone's location data to the scene of the crime.
Authorities would later on be able to obtain information on the Audi's license plate and would later find the Audi at an address owned by Baucom's sister.
The sister told officers that she gave the Audi to Baucom the day of the death of Brown and he later returned it to her residence. The sister also revealed that Jordan was the sister's cousin.
Police later traced Baucom's phone data history and it traced him throughout the day with Jordan leading up to the death of Brown.
When Baucom was interviewed by authorities, he admitted to driving the Audi during the shooting and he claimed Jordan fired shots during the shooting with a rifle.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department held a press conference Wednesday in relation to the charges and says it is still an active investigation.
