The suspect, 47-year-old Carmain Milton was arrested and has been charged with for second-degree murder and first-degree robbery. Police say around 11:40 a.m. in the Central West End he robbed Chen-Hsyong Yang, 72, of Brentwood at gunpoint.

Milton took Yang's Honda Element and struck Yang while fleeing the scene, police say. Yang was found "suffering from severe trauma to his body" and transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Milton was arrested a short time later that night after the vehicle was found and the suspect tried to run from police. He was arrested about three miles away from the crime scene, in the 4100 block of E. Prairie.
