Arrest made in officer-involved shooting

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Charges were filed Friday against the man shot by St. Louis city police Thursday, after he allegedly refused to drop his gun.

Thirty-six-year-old Byron Doss faces unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, and tampering with a motor vehicle counts.

He's said to be in serious but stable condition.

Police say Doss and another man were spotted inside a stolen Infiniti G-35 in north St. Louis. The shooting occurred outside the car, after it crashed in the 5500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.

The officer who shot Doss is 31 years of age, with six years on the force.

The department's force investigation unit is handling the case.
