A major downtown St. Louis employer expects to see its managers back at their desks starting this week.
This good be good news for lunch spots, as AT&T is paring down the number of offices it has across the country to nine of what it called "Core offices," including its world headquarters in Dallas and the former BellSouth headquarters in Atlanta. St. Louis is one of the other hubs, which also include Los Angeles, Seattle, and a couple of New Jersey locations.
The Dallas Morning News reports the mandate to get back to one of those core offices is this week and applies to 60,000 managers.
Workers have been seen lately making visual improvements around AT&T's remaining downtown properties, which include the historic Southwestern Bell headquarters tower and a data center, which are on either side of the now-empty former AT&T Tower.
