Dozens of vehicles on the east side of Belleville were damaged by a pellet or BB gun Monday night, according to the St. Clair County Sherriff.
40 vehicles had one or more windows shot out.
The Sheriff's office said it appears many of the vehicles were hit during the heavy rains that were passing through the area, which caused water damage as well.
The Department took reports in the Weatherstone, Lincolnshire and Chenot Place
neighborhoods as well as in areas along West Boulevard.
Deputies are looking for a vehicle that was possibly involved -- a white Chrysler 300.
