ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - They've already had about 40 public meetings on the proposed Metrolink green line and Bi-State president and CEO Taulby Roach says they're having open houses on the project beginning Tuesday night.
"We need to solicit ideas from the public about what they want to see in our community," said Roach on Total Information A.M. "'How does this look, where does this sidewalk go, where do they want some trees?'"
"All those fundamental aspects that make our neighborhood stronger and create a more vibrant community in our connected region."
The green line would run along Jefferson Avenue from Natural Bridge to Chippewa.
Roach says at this "30% design phase," they're fine-tuning things like project costs, timeline and major design elements.
Roach says they're having open houses so people can talk to the engineers about what they'd like to see along the line. One thing is for sure.
"We're doing cameras everywhere throughout our system," said Roach. "10 stations along the route, we're going to see reasonable gates and separation so that we know when people are getting on the system, they'll have a fare."
