Actor Billy Dee Williams discusses memoir ahead of Feb. 20 event at Chaminade

The actor known for his role as Lando Calrissian in Star Wars media, is set to appear at Chaminade on Feb. 20 a discussion of his memoir "What Have We Here?: Portraits of a Life"

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - An actor you're likely familiar with from a galaxy far, far away is headed our way.

Many know actor Billy Dee Williams for his roles in Star Wars media as Lando Calrissian, the smuggler who helps fight against the Empire in Star Wars franchise

But next week, he is coming to St. Louis as part of an event with the St. Louis County Library.

On Tuesday, Feb. 20, as part of the County Library's Black History Celebration, Williams will visit to St. Louis to discuss his memoir What Have We Here?: Portraits of a Life.

In the memoir, Williams talks about romance, the dozens of roles he's played as an actor, including his Emmy-nominated breakout role in Brian’s Song and of course his iconic character from Star Wars

Williams caught up with KMOX's Megan Lynch on Total Information A.M. Wednesday to discuss his life, beginning with his childhood growing up in 1940's Harlem, surrounding by the arts.

The event will be at Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Tickets can be found here for the event. All ticket goers will receive a pre-signed copy of Williams' book.

Due to time limitations, there will not be a signing line or photo opportunity with Williams.
