IMPERIAL, Mo. (KMOX)--A budding muralist was given the opportunity to spray-paint a giant wall on Imperial Main Street in Jefferson County, Missouri.
That's the street Kimmswick visitors take to get to the Apple Butter Festival.
"I could probably take all the art in my entire lifetime and put it into this wall," said 20-year-old Will Breeze. "This is my first real massive project."
Breeze was tasked with painting a desert western scene with a UFO to match the theme of "Cactus Pete's" arcade. He used over 100 cans of spray paint on the 1300 square foot blank wall.
In the five days it took Breeze to complete the job in the humid June heat, a random man stopped by and left him a cooler full of water. The man told him he was appreciative of his work and how it brought life to Imperial Main.
"Most people use spray paint or they roll it out with a paint roller or they use brushes," Breeze said. "I just chose spray paint because it goes quick. It's actually my first time doing it."
Breeze said he has painted a few murals at Jefferson R-7 where he went to high school. He credited his skill to his art teacher Ms. Thompson.
Breeze already has another job lined up. He says a man stopped by, while he was up on the lift painting, and asked him if he'd do a mural on a wall about the same size at local hot rod shop.
