ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals 2024 baseball season is still a little over four months away, but the team is getting prepared for it already both on and off the field.
On the field, the Cardinals will certainly be expected to have a quite active winter with the goal to improve a pitching staff that was in the bottom third of the league last season.
Off the field, the Cardinals announced their 2024 promotional schedule Wednesday and among the highlights include a Cardinals Bird Hat, a bobblehead of both now-retired Adam Wainwright alongside new his dog Lola, and a "Turn Ahead the Clock Jersey" giveaway.
The first Cardinals giveaway of the 2024 season will be on Thursday, April 4 which fans will receive a 2024 Cardinals Schedule Magnet during the team's home opener against the Miami Marlins.
At the end of month, on Sunday, April 21, 25,000 fans can get a Cardinals Bird Hat, a similar style hat was made popular by Cardinals broadcasters Chip Caray and Brad Thompson who wore it during the 2023 season.
On Saturday, May 4, 25,000 fans ages 16 and older will receive a bobblehead of Wainwright and his new pup Louie on the same day the teams host their 19th annual Purina Pooches in the Ballpark event.
As some baseball fans will know, MLB did a leaguewide "Turn Ahead The Clock" promotion in 1999 where teams leaguewide released jerseys to predict what jerseys would like the 2027 season. All but eight teams participated in the promotion, with the Cardinals participating.
Fans will now have a chance to receive those jerseys on Friday, Aug. 16 when 25,000 fans ages 16 and older will be able to take home a replica Turn Ahead the Clock Cardinals Jersey.
