Cardinals television broadcaster Dan McLaughlin is charged with being a Persistent Offender of Driving While Intoxicated after his arrest over the weekend.

McLaughlin was arrested Sunday night around 6:30.
A statement issued by Creve Coeur Police Monday details his arrest: "After following the white sedan a short distance on northbound I-270 and noticing the driver was failing to maintain a single lane, the Creve Coeur police officer effected a traffic stop. During the stop, the officer discovered several clues to indicate the driver was impaired. Based on the results of a field sobriety test, the officer’s personal observations along with the two independent reports called in to police, the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated."
The 48-year-old McLaughlin was being held on $25,000 cash-only bond. The broadcaster is charged with persistent DWI -- a felony offense -- after 2 previous incidents a decade ago.
In a statement, the Cardinals and Bally Sports said, “We have been made aware that Dan McLaughlin was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated on Sunday night. We are very disappointed to hear this, and are working to gather additional information before offering further comment."
