ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Chesterfield Sports Complex now has a new name in honor of a three-time NBA All Star and St. Louis-native Bradley Beal.
Beal, who attended Chaminade College Preparatory School and now currently plays for the Phoenix Suns, was on hand Thursday morning for the renaming ceremony of the complex into the Beal Center.
Chesterfield mayor John Nation and a handful of young athletes were also in attendance for the renaming ceremony.
The Sports Complex opened in 2023 and one of the tenants is Bradley Beal Elite, the top-ranked Nike-sponsored club in the Midwest.
The newly-renamed Beal Center is home to the largest indoor volleyball and basketball complex in the region.
The center expects to attract an estimated 900,000 visitors each year with 1,000 youth athletes practicing there each week and 2,500 athletes playing tournaments on the weekend, and projected to generate a local economical impact of $3.6 million according to officials.
The Beal Center will host over 40 tournaments and major regional sports events each year.
