Planned Parenthood says a new court ruling means abortions can resume, including in St. Louis.

The state has had a law on the books banning abortions but Missouri voters passed a constitutional amendment last year overruling that. Then, in May, the Missouri Supreme Court clarified a legal standard which delayed implementation. Now this newest ruling means abortions can resume.

Margot Riphagen, the president of Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, in a statement, says "the whiplash has created immense confusion for patients."

The ACLU notes concern about legislators' efforts to ban abortion again.

But, for now, the judge's order means the scheduling of abortions can resume at Planned Parenthood facilities in Kansas City as well as the location in St. Louis in the Central West End.

This order does not lift the hold on prescribing abortion medications.
