After two and a half years -- and more than $50 million in taxpayer funding -- the Delmar Loop Trolley finally resumed operation on Thursday morning.
The trolley will roll on the 2.2-mile route from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays until the end of October.
Bi-State Development -- who agreed to operate the Trolley -- is not charging for rides during the three month trial period that ends on Sunday, October 30.
Not all St. Louisans are ecstatic about the revival of the trolley. But St. Louis officials are optimistic -- plus, federal officials said the city would have to return millions of dollars in grant money if they didn't restart the trolley's operations.
