ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A change in leadership at the organization working to grow St. louis' population.

Betsy Cohen has announced she is stepping down as director of the St. Louis Mosaic Project after a dozen years.

Cohen is moving on to FutureGood, a national consultancy based in California that works with foundations and non-profits.

"It has been a privilege to lead the Mosaic Project and be part of the vital work we've accomplished over the past twelve years," said Betsy Cohen in a release.

"I am confident that Suzanne will build on this foundation, expanding the work in exciting new directions. I look forward to collaborating with her and the entire WTC team in the future."

The Mosaic Project, under the auspices of the World Trade Center St. Louis, has focused on bringing more foreign-born to the region and keeping them here to fill jobs and boost our declining population.

Under Cohen's Leadership, Mosaic Project helped St. louis grow its foreign-born population in 2023 by more than 23%, which ranked the region first in the nation among the largest metro areas.

Mosaic Project's Assistant Director Suzanne Sierra will take over for Cohen at a challenging time as President Trump has stopped any refugees from coming into the country and created an air of uncertainty for immigrants.
