ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - With the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on pause, so researchers can figure out the link to severe blood clots, the leader of the St. Louis Pandemic Task Force believes there is enough vaccine available for others who want a dose until the CDC and FDA come to a conclusion.

However, Dr. Alex Garza says he is concerned about increased hesitancy in getting the vaccine.

"There was already some degree of hesitancy that was out there already, " Dr. Garza said. "This pause certainly doesn't help with that. It was a completely appropriate pause for the FDA and the CDC to look at the data."

Dr. Garza also says this pause should reinforce confidence in the system that researchers are looking out for everyone's safety.
