HAZELWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) - The 12-acre parking lot of POWERplex in St. Louis County will transform back into one of the largest drive-in concert, graduation and movie venues in America. They're preparing to host more than 70 events this summer and fall.

Drive-In St. Louis, located at the former St. Louis Mills Outlet Mall in St. Louis County, will reopen with huge screens and a giant performance stage to host 25 weeks of concerts, movies, graduations, galas and special events from May 6 through Halloween. The first event is a "Casting Crowns” concert on May 6.

Last year, it hosted more than 25 events, including high school graduations for more than 3,500 seniors and nearly 60,000 people attended the commencements, concerts and movie nights.

New this year will be food trucks and an outdoor hospitality tent for pre-show festivities and post-show music and cocktails until midnight after the concerts and movies.

Multiple school districts in St. Louis already plan to host graduation ceremonies there again this year, including Hazelwood Parkway, Clayton and Incarnate Word.
