The electric scooters that went away in June are not coming back anytime soon.
St. Louis Public Safety Director Dan Isom has informed electric scooter companies Lime and Bird they're not welcome to return to Downtown or Downtown West for the remainder of the year.
Isom sent a letter on Tuesday to the companies, noting what he called a 'series of public safety incidents' as his reason for halting the scooter rentals on June 8th. He also cited discussions with residents and businesses for continuing the ban. He said the city plans to revisit the matter in early 2023.
