Family members of a man fatally shot at Kiener Plaza Thursday afternoon are pleading with the suspect to turn himself him.

St. Louis police are still looking for the shooter, who approached 30-year-old Darrius Mullins while he was sitting on a park bench around 3:30pm. The two got into an argument and the suspect opened fire.

An employee at Busch Stadium, Mullins was known for skateboarding downtown. His godmother and city committeewoman, Yolanda Yancie, told Fox 2 News his nickname was "smiley."

"He lit up a room wherever he went," she said. "He was always pleasant, he was always fun. Darrius was a free spirit."

Yancie and alderwoman Cara Spencer are among city leaders making yet another call for the violence to stop.

"A homicide in the middle of the day in downtown St. Louis is horrific and obviously something we should be very, very concerned about," said Spencer.

Police say after Mullins was on the ground, the suspect shot him several more times. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
