14-year-old Tyre Sampson fell to his death in late March. He was on the Free Fall ride at Icon Park in Orlando, Florida. The 430-foot attraction is billed as the world's tallest free-standing drop tower.

His family has said the wrongful death civil lawsuit they're filing will address accountability, safety, and what they call negligence in the operation of the ride.

They want it permanently closed and dismantled.

State investigators released a preliminary report last week that found a safety sensor on Sampson's seat was manually adjusted to allow the harnesses to expand, which created a gap that Sampson slipped through.
