Saint Louis city police and fire departments are hoping to catch the persons responsible for putting nearly 50 fire hydrants out of commission. Firefighters say they were deliberately-damaged so that hoses may not be attached to them.
The vandalism was discovered Friday in the Old North, Hyde Park, and Near North Riverfront areas of St. Louis. First-responders say if you see someone tampering with a fire hydrant, call 911 immediately.
