St. Louis City Firefighter on leave after allegedly defecating in a box

A St. Louis City Firefighter is on leave and under investigation after allegedly defecating in a box inside of a food storage area inside Lambert Airport on June 10th.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed the incident to KMOX, saying the it took place inside of the HMSHost food storage and prep area inside of the airport. According to the source, all the food inside the room had to be disposed of.

KMOX has reached out to HMSHost for comment and is awaiting a response.

When asked about the alleged defecation, a spokesperson for Lambert International Airport said in a statement, “the incident that took place in Terminal Two on June 10, 2026 involving a St. Louis City Firefighter is unacceptable for anyone associated with this airport. We appreciate that the fire department removed the firefighter from his duties here at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. We are referring all further comment regarding the incident to the St. Louis Fire Department.”

The St. Louis City Fire Department in response said they are "aware of an incident involving one of tis members at St. Louis Lambert International Airport," adding the member is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

KMOX has also asked the St. Louis County Police Department for any incident reports related to the defecation.
