
St. Louis has its first probable case of Monkeypox and is awaiting confirmation from the CDC.

There have been three previous cases in Missouri, but not in the St. Louis area. Dr. Mati Hlatshwayo Davis said the case was likely contracted out of state during travel.
"An investigation shows that the individual has had minimal contact with the public, and any potential close contacts have been notified," she said.
Hlatshwayo Davis said Monkeypox symptoms include a fever, headaches, muscle aches, exhaustion and swollen lymph nodes. The landmark symptom is a rash that looks like pimples or blisters. Symptoms can last two to four weeks.
