
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Former St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger has been moved from a federal prison in South Dakota to a residential reentry facility in St. Louis. His listed release date is Dec. 27 of this year.
Stenger, 49, was sentenced to 46 months in prison and fined $250,000 in 2019 for corruption charges. He pleaded guilty to providing political favors in exchange for campaign donations. Three others also pleaded guilty to the pay-to-play scheme.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Stenger is now at the St. Louis residential reentry office at 1222 Spruce St. in downtown.
The federal prison where Stenger reported to in 2019 was ranked No. 22 among the 50 "most comfortable prisons in the world."
