ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) - The Francis Howell School Board took a vote Thursday night on a controversial measure to rescind any resolution that was not signed by the current majority of the board.

The public comment before the vote was largely opposed to the notion, especially when it comes to an anti-racism resolution passed a few years ago.

"In 2020, for the first time in the history of Francis Howell School District we recognized that our black brown students, families, and staff have been impacted by racism and hateful people within our midst," said one speaker.

Those comments, however, did not sway a majority of the board, including one director who said, "We've got 75 days from now to either re-adopt, edit, whatever, any of these resolutions that might go away. We don't know what the board in 1924 put on as a resolution. There's no way to know, is there?"

The measure to rescind resolutions passed 5-2.
