You know his voice from his reports on religion and health issues at KMOX…and you've known it for a long time. This weekend, KMOX's Fred Bodimer reached a huge milestone: 40 years at KMOX.

He joined Total Information AM to look back on some of his career highlights and reflect on what's kept him here for four decades.

His first job here, he said, was part time. He'd come in on Friday around 3 p.m. and stay until around noon the next day. "Yeah, I know. That was a long, long shift. I'd bring two meals because I was there so long," he said.

"I remember when I got here we didn't have computers, right, everything was a manual or an electric typewriter," he added. "No emails."

Fred reflected on some of his proudest moments at the station, including an interview he did with the Dalai Lama.

"I guess I'm just most proud of just the longevity that I've had. I haven't looked for another job anywhere else. It's just what I'm committed to do, and I love every day that I do it," Fred said. "There's not been a day that I've come into work thinking, 'Oh, I dread coming into work.' I look forward to every day I've loved and a lot of it has to do with all the people I work with. Because I love all you guys."
