NEW HAVEN, MO--(KMOX)--He was a man who worked for the same fire department for 59 years, until the day he died.
The Funeral is set for Thursday morning for firefighter Lloyd Ruediger, 84, who was found dead Monday, after having helped respond to a residential fire in New Haven Sunday night.
Ruediger's daughter reported finding her father dead in his home "of an apparent heart attack" Monday, wearing the same clothes from the night before.
The octogenarian fireighter had reportedly driven a New Haven-Berger Fire Protection District vehicle to the fire Sunday night.
Missouri Governor Parson had ordered flags flown at half staff in honor of Ruediger .
And the first responder charity group Backstoppers has announced it's helping with the family's emergency expenses.
Visitation was Wednesday afternoon and evening at Toedtmann and Gross Funeral home in New Haven, and the funeral is set for 11 Thursday morning at St. Paul's Church in Berger.
