ST. LOUIS - There is still some time to take a Riverboat Cruise by the Gateway Arch, and the cruise is teaming up with the National Parks Service for a new educational effort.

The cruise is offering a junior ranger program called 'Riverboat Explorer' from now until Labor Day, were kids of all ages, including those at heart.

The Junior Ranger program at The Arch is designed to help young kids learn more about St. Louis history, with activities around the park designed to help connect them to the park's resources and encourage them to become active stewards of their national parks.

Kids are able to receive a badge once they complete the activities at the park.

The program will take during both the 1:30 and 3 p.m. cruises, when there is a ranger on board the cruise.

Pam Sanfilippo, Chief of Museum Services and Interpretation at Gateway Arch National Park, says the ground has seen some momentum on the ground through the help of the program.

"The numbers seem to be increasing, with people building it in as part of their visit to the park," said Sanfilippo.

The Riverfront Junior Ranger Program is one many junior rangers programs on the ground, which include one for kids ages four and under and another one spanning the whole museum.
