The governor's office has said there's no short list, but they are looking for someone who's not necessarily a city resident, not necessarily a Republican or Democrat, but someone who can get the office running and restore "law and order."
Governor Parson is scheduled to meet Tuesday with Mayor Tishaura Jones and local faith leaders for their input. The mayor's office says she wants someone who " "has the trust of the community, and is respected by all public safety partners. She's looking for a caretaker for the office who can bring it up to speed without the distraction of re-election politics."
