ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A grandfather is facing charges after he allegedly critically injured his 19-year-old granddaughter in south St. Louis.
Pierre Irving, 74, was charged Tuesday by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Irving was allegedly having a argument with his 19-year-old granddaughter and her mother. Irving allegedly became upset and retrieved a firearm.
Irving then shot at the teen and her mom, striking the teen in the head. The mother was not injured.
EMS responded and transported the 19-year-old to the hospital where she was listed in critical/unstable condition.
Irving was taken into custody and is still in custody, according to St. Louis Police. Police say bond information is not currently available at this time.
