Holiday travel hasn't been cheap this year. KMOX Travel Advisor Peter Greenberg says domestic airfares are up 27% from February. International flights have spiked even more. Greenberg says there may be some relief on the way next month. "A big surprise, airfares on average for August are down 6% over where they were last year."
There's another surprise for August air travelers as well. Greenberg says there are a lot of seats available for frequent flyer award redemption. He says he's not sure that will still be the case in September.
