ST. LOUIS - (KMOX) A Democratic State Representative has filed federal and state complaints against St. Louis County Executive Doctor Sam Page.
Gretchen Bangert is running for out-going councilwoman Kelli Dunaway's second district council seat. She alleges she believes there could be illegal misuse of taxpayer funded governmental resources.
According to the Post Dispatch, Doctor Page allegedly had another state Rep, Ladonna Appelbaum call Bangert . Republican Councilman Mark Harder tells KMOX Bangert taped a conversation with Page. "Because she felt uncomfortable about what was being proposed to her. And what was being proposed is that she would drop out of the race, the primary race for a job in the county.
Doctor Page's spokesman Doug Moore released the following statement to KMOX:
"Doctor Page is not endorsing anyone in the race. There are two good candidates in the race and voters have a tough choice to make.
He spoke with both Nicole and Gretchen and suggested they talk and try to work it out. He did not ask anyone to drop out of the race.
He told both Nicole and Gretchen that if they were unsuccessful, there were job opportunities in the county, and they should consider applying. But no one has a job offer."
