A former high school counselor in St. Louis County faces a long stretch in prison after preying upon teenage girls.
James Q. Jenkins, who worked at Hancock High School in Lemay, pled guilty in federal court Tuesday to sexual misconduct with numerous students.
The 38-year-old, who worked at the school from 2020 to 2021, took a plea deal for two felonies: Coercion and enticement of a minor, along with transferring sexual material to a minor. Prosecutors say he sexually assaulted or harassed at least ten girls in the time he was working at the school, including sending and requesting nude photos, engaging in sexual conduct, calling them pet names, and touching them inappropriately.
Hancock had also been put on leave from the St. Joseph School District for inappropriate behavior with female students. He faces up to ten years when he's sentenced on December 20.
