Hotel stay in St. Louis stays up in month of July

ST. LOUIS - Hotel stay in the St. Louis area has seen a boost in the month of July.

Explore St. Louis VP of Communications Cat Neville joined 'Total Information A.M.' to talk hotel occupancy in St. Louis up in July.

According to Neville, July 2023 was one of the best months for the St. Louis hotel industry ever, with average hotel occupancy being 70% around the metro area. 42,000 hotel rooms were booked around the metro area in July according to metrics Explore St. Louis uses.

The occupancy is up compared to last year's July numbers, with 2022 hotel's occupancy being 63.4%.

Neville cites the Cubs-Cardinals series in July along with a UPCI conference this month, which the latter brought in 35,000.

"It's so critically important for us to really be focusing on making sure the cultural life in St. Louis to remain so vibrant," Neville said, "It brings tremendous revenue to the region."
