Danny Jacobs describes his late father, Richard, as a malignant narcissist and has the tales and trauma to prove it. Darren Grodsky has been his best friend since they were six years old, but even he didn't know the depths of what Danny had gone through.
"How To Destroy Everything" is their hit podcast that explores Richard's unbelievable antics and the fallout. It's debut episode was featured by Apple in 2023 and became the number-3 podcast on the entire platform!
"When my mom divorced my dad, she got a call from a woman who invited her to a support group," says Danny. "It was composed solely of people who had been sued by my dad. They had dozens of members. They had a newsletter..."
The duo receive emails from all over the world from people who had known Richard and had run-ins with him.
Jacobs and Grodsky grew up in Creve Coeur. They now both live in Los Angeles where they work as screenwriters and directors. They were visiting St. Louis for a special live event at STL Style, hosted by their other childhood friends, Jeff and Randy Vines.
