ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Illinois State Police officers are investigating an early Monday morning shooting in East St. Louis, Illinois that left one person dead.
According to Illinois State Police Enforcement Group, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive at 2:32 a.m. Monday.
An adult male who had been shot was transported to a local area hospital in a personal vehicle, police said. He later died from his injuries.
East St. Louis called Illinois State police to help assist with the investigation.
Illinois State Police is still investigating the incident as of 11:38 a.m. with no new information at this time.
