No Tears Project
April 28 and 29
Gateway Arch National Park, Jazz St. Louis and the Oxford American have partnered on the No Tears Project, a series of free events that utilize music and conversation to engage communities in civil rights education and storytelling. On April 28 and 29, a seven-piece jazz ensemble led by pianist Christopher Parker and vocalist Kelley Hurt will perform community concerts at Jazz St. Louis. The concerts will include songs from the original No Tears Suite composition, which premiered during the 60th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine's enrollment in the all-white Little Rock Central High School in 1957. The events at Jazz St. Louis will also feature brand-new music, poetry and dance created by and in collaboration with beloved St. Louis artists Oliver Lake, Brian Owens, Treasure Shields Redmond and Ashley Tate. The performances are free and open to the public, but tickets are required.
9 to 5: The Musical
April 28 to 30
With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, 9 to 5: The Musical is based on the 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot whom they call their boss. In an uproarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she? Presented by the Gateway Center for the Performing Arts, 9 to 5 will show at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center from April 28 to 30.
Tough Mudder

The multifaceted adventure competition joins a stellar calendar of WWTR events in 2023, including the NASCAR Cup Series, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series Midwest Nationals, Formula Drift and the new SpeedTour Grand Prix Festival for the TransAm Series.
