ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - They say good things come to those who wait, well St. Louisans have been waiting a long time and it will be even longer before they can see Kenny Chesney at Busch Stadium again.
His tour originally scheduled for 2020 was rescheduled to 2021, but has now been pushed back to 2022. The county mega-star explained in a press release that he would rather wait for a safer environment than try to perform in sold-out areas at reduced capacity and with pandemic-related guidelines.
"No one has tried harder than my team to make the 220 Chillaxification Tour a reality… Sadly, we can’t find a way to make it safe, to navigate water that’s just not getting any clearer," he stated.
The 2022 show at Busch Stadium does not have a date set. Tickets for the original show will be honored for the new date.
There have been nearly a dozen concerts held at Busch Stadium, including Chesney in 2018, Billy Joel in 2017, Paul McCartney in 2016 and Dave Matthews Band in 2008.
