ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A local St. Louis area business owner recently had a opportunity of a lifetime to enter the 'Shark Tank'.

Kirkwood-native Lindsay Mullenger recently had the opportunity to appear on the renowned ABC show 'Shark Tank' and pitch to 'sharks' about her business Petite Keep and convince to them to invest into her business in exchange for equity.

"I'm a total 'Shark Tank' fan, so I had kind of seen every single episode," said Mullenger on 'Total Information A.M' Monday. "So I kind of knew what I was going into and it was such a pleasure."

Mullenger says the origins of Petite Keep, which launched in 2020 came while she was having her second daughter.

"We make keepsake trunks and our customers use these keepsake trunks for the highest emotional moments of their lives," said Mullenger on 'Total Information A.M.' "For having babies, getting married, graduating college. If they had some big life milestone, we probably embroidered a trunk for it."

Mullenger says the exterior of the trunks made by Petite Keep are made of steel in the exterior but the interior is customizable.

"In the inside, customers get to choose a fabric and we work female artists all across the country to design our signature prints," said Mullenger. "They are prints that are significant towards our brand and they evoke memories and really meant to drop on life experiences."

In her appearance on 'Shark Tank' Mullenger was successful in getting three 'sharks' on board, with Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran and guest 'shark' Jamie Kern Lima agreeing to a invest $400,000 into Petite Keep in exchange for 15% equity.

"I connected this summer with them and it was such a pinch-me moment because I been such a fan of the show and it felt like such a man of the station moment honestly," said Mullenger.
