Thank you for sharing in our celebration of 100 years of service to St. Louis. On 11/20, inspired by our AM dial position, we held a ten-hour, on-air marathon remembering the history-making moments, innovative programming, and legendary voices that defined KMOX and Mid-America.
KMOX-AM officially signed on the air Christmas Eve, December 24th, 1925, with transmitter facilities in Kirkwood, Missouri.
We have more planned over the year to commemorate our journey with you.
Below, you'll find tributes to our "KMOX Pioneers," those beloved local broadcasters who've positioned "The Mighty 'MOX" to become America's most respected, legendary, and dominant spoken word radio station.
Here, you can experience KMOX's special, marathon day of programming — “A Century of Service” — presented by Purina, Your Pet, Our Passion.
You'll hear unforgettable moments:
Bob Costas and John Goodman taking over the conversation with laughter.
Charlie Brennan and Kevin Horrigan reuniting for a "Morning Meeting."
Personalities from different eras colliding like Dave Glover with John Carney and Chris Rongey with Ron Jacober.
Voices like Wendy Weise and Randy Karraker return.
The award-winning KMOX news team reassembles and reminisces, with Carol Daniel, Michael Calhoun, Megan Lynch, Kevin Killeen, Bill Reker, John Butler, Beth Coghlan, plus archival audio of Bob Hamilton and Nan Wyatt.
Today's Careys and Kellys join. The soundtracks of St. Louis sports.
And much, much more!
